The first Sydney ferry to hold the name
Courier was built for Eyde
Manning's Parrramatta River service and operated this route as part of
a fleet of around fifteen vessels. This was the first serious attempt
to provide a regular, reliable service between Sydney Cove and Queen's
Wharf at Parramatta.
She was eventually sold to John Watson and may have spent her final
years working the Balmain area.
She was broken up in 1886.
