Bunya Bunya was a near identical sister ship to Waratah II.
She was part of a fleet of three big ferries (the others being Victoria
and Waratah II) that were built for North Shore Ferries to operate the
high capacity run from Milsons Point to Circular Quay.
She was absorbed into the Sydney Ferries Limited fleet at the time that
company began taking over many of the smaller harbour operators in the
early years of the twentieth century.
Bunya Bunya was broken up in 1914, made redundant (along with her other
paddlewheel running mates) by the influx of the new and faster K class
steam screw ferries.
