Originally built as an iron
hulled tug, in 1853 she was lengthened and placed on the embryonic
Manly service by Thomas Hesselton. She operated on the harbour until
1873 when she was sold
to a Newcastle tug business run by John Dalton.
She commenced her new life on Newcastle harbour in June of 1874
and gave 43 years service there. At the age of 67, she was broken up
and scrapped.
Her registered name was
Cobre
but she was known as
Cobra
when in the
Manly service.
