Gannet originally operated on the Parramatta route along with her
partners Cygnet, Halcyon & Pheasant.
In 1888 her original owner (C Jeanneret) sold the fleet and run to the
Parramatta River Steamers & Tramway Company Ltd. They continued to
operate the ferries along the Parramatta River.
In 1885, along with Florrie, she was leased to a Neutral Bay developer
(Patrick Hayes) who operated both vessels on a short lived North Shore
Service.
By 1900 she had been sold to Sydney Ferries.
Although she was registered as Gannett, during her career her nameplate
was mis-spelt as Gannet.
Her ultimate fate is unknown.
