It's Burra Bra - it's always the Burra Bra  except when its the Binngarra.Even after they were scuttled.

too late for burra bra. It could theoretically be bellubera, baragoola or north head. my bet is on baragoola but it was in conversion in 58 so not sure if it was still in service at this time. It is hard to tell because not many defining features are present.

There is a defining feature actually.  Also a hint - it can only be Bellubera or Baragoola.

Another hint on the feature - if you are rather intimately familiar with Baragoola you can work out if it is her or not.

In other words, Nick and I know exactly which it is - but we'll see if anyone else can work it out.

... and one final hint - the bollards are the give away.

Yes I am pretty certain I know  =D  However the year stated that it was taken I have a doubt or two.

While the background could be consistant to late 50's ( Can't quite see up George street which is where the buildings would be a giveaway) The hair style and dress of the two people onboard look more like 70's

In fact the wooly headed fellow near the bollard looks very much like a young bloke we know ;)

Ric

No - it isn't who you think it is!

The wharves are also 50's

Not Binngarra (wrong funnel), not Baragoola (wrong dodger), not Burra Bra (nose tip is too big).

Its difficult to see but it would appear that the funnel has no cowl at the top, so it would be a coal-burner. Oil-burners were fitted with a tapered cowl at the top of the funnel.

All the B class were coal burners , Baragoola was the only one with the cowl at the top of the funnel  :D  which came after her conversion to burn pulverised coal and latter oil
