An iron hulled paddlewheel steamer, Narrabeen was the first of eight
vessels to be built by Mort's for the Manly trade.
For the first 24 years of her life she operated as a passenger boat,
however, by the time of the Balgowlah class vessels she was regarded as
too small. In 1911 she was used only to carry cargo to and from Manly.
She was sold in 1917 and hulked. Her ultimate fate is unknown.
Narrabeen was the last paddlewheeler built for the Manly trade and also
the last Manly paddlewheeler withdrawn from service. She was not the
last Manly paddlewheeler in passenger service however. That honour goes
to Brighton.
